Conflict minerals
Conflict Minerals CM refers to metal minerals such as gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W), and tin (Sn) produced from mining areas controlled by non-governmental military groups or non-military factions in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (3TG), and the illegal mining profits obtained by local military groups are stolen from citizens, and cause human rights violations and environmental degradation in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Harmfulness
The mining and trade of minerals originating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DCR) has contributed to the financing conflict in eastern Congo characterized by extreme levels of violence. Since the late 90s, the conflict has claimed more than 5.4 million lives.
Mining activities are key to the Congolese economy. However, some mines are controlled by militant groups and cause serious social and environmental problems in the area:
* Serious human rights violations, theft, extortion
* Use of violence against the control of mineral resources and taxation
* Forced and child labor
* Limited development options –> artisanal and small-scale mining
* Impacts of protected areas, deforestation and more

Objective
In order to prevent the use of conflict minerals in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its adjacent areas in our raw materials, implement the company's policy on conflict minerals, improve the conditions of the electronic supply chain, and support regional procurement plans so that the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its neighboring countries can have legal trade in the future.
