Development purpose
A dual-magnetic-core, series-parallel LLC transformer combined with an external independent resonant inductor is used in a 40kW DC charging station: the high-voltage bus from the front-end three-phase PFC connects to the primary-side series winding for voltage division and insulation withstand, while the secondary-side parallel windings provide high-current output, supporting wide-range battery charging from 200V to 750V. The externally mounted independent resonant inductor allows flexible adjustment of resonant parameters, enabling convenient tuning and compatibility across multiple power specifications. Symmetrical dual magnetic cores ensure balanced power distribution between two paths, while the transformer itself performs only voltage transformation and isolation. Together with the external resonant inductor, it forms a complete LLC resonant circuit. With heat-dissipating base plates and vacuum potting, the design meets long-term thermal management and environmental durability requirements for outdoor high-power fast charging applications.
